Our Mission

To embolden young women from the African Diaspora to discover their roots and their wings, we focus on cultural “root” awareness.

By preparing them for and journeying with them to the continent of Africa, we aim to deepen their understanding of their heritage and empower them to embrace their full potential.

This transformative experience not only connects them with their ancestral roots but also equips them with the confidence and knowledge to soar to new heights.

Our Story

The idea of Seedplanters EmpowerHER Alliance, Inc. (SEA) was birthed in September 2014. The Founder co-facilitated a mentoring program for teenage women in her community in Harlem entitled "Dare to Dream". In the mentoring sessions,
the young women, including the facilitators, put pen to paper and wrote down their biggest visions, dreams and goals. The concept stuck with her as she saw the visions
she recorded as part of the assignment come to fruition. Travelling to Egypt, snorkelling
in the Red Sea, and tasting Gelato for the first time in Greece happened afterwards. The idea of writing it down and spending more time focusing on goals and huge dreams served as a reminder that we can make our dreams come true. Sharing this idea with other young women and witnessing their dreams materialize is the impetus of SEA.
